Advise for this year!!
We recommend to everyone that buying and freezing smaller items such as sausages and bacon in advance of Christmas to save stress, time and queing, these can be bought within our usual opening hours 5 days a week through October/November and early December to help you preparing for your special day!
When orders are placed in the shop we will give you a card with your order details as well as a preferred collection time slot for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of:
8am-10am 10am -12pm 12pm -2pm 2pm - 4pm 4pm - 6pm
This times are to assist with social distancing during collection.
Our Turkeys are reared here at Hedges Farm, they are barn reared in open sheds with lots of varied enrichment to keep them enterained, they are bedded with home produced, golden, barley straw every day which we harvest here during the summer!
Both our farm reared Bronze and White turkeys can be seen
here from the beggining of August onwards.
We hand pluck all of our turkeys with no added water, and we do not feed any growth promotors or additives to them, they are reared as naturally as possible here!
We begin plucking in early December and then the birds are matured, the same as beef, over at least 10 days to ensure ultimate flavour and softening of the meat!
Our oven ready Turkey weights range between:
4.5kgs and 13.6kgs
Our turkeys are all fresh and ready for the oven
(The giblets are included in a seperated bag & turkeys are priced on individual weight)
If you would like extra giblets, we can only offer these once other people have decided not to take them home, so it is best to ask when you collect if we have any spares.
